Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accommodate dietary restrictions?

Due to the nature of our operation, we are unable to make menu modifications to accommodate specific dietary requirements. Our weekly changing menus focus on farm-derived ingredients and dishes may include locally sourced grains, dairy, and nuts, as well as our own poultry and pork products.

We do offer 2 alternatives to our standard fare:
1. The third weekend of every month, our menu focus is Vegetarian Fare. Please note that vegetarian menus may contain dairy and eggs.
2. If you would like to book the entire restaurant for an evening, 30 or more guests, we are happy host your party and write a menu that aligns with your preferences.

What is your cancellation or refund policy?

Ticket purchases for any Burning Barrel event are non-refundable. If you are unable to attend your ticketed event, we offer the following 3 options:

1. Raincheck: If we receive 7 days notice, we will issue a raincheck, transferrable to any available calendar date for a similar event in the same calendar year. (ex: Tickets to an Origin Dining Event are transferrable to another Origin Dining Event, but are not transferrable to a Wildfire Event)
2. Pass it on: You may pass your tickets to someone else. Please notify us as soon as possible of the new name on your reservation.
3. Meals to go: If you are unable to attend an Origin Dinner, we are happy to package your meal(s) to go for pick up that evening or the following day by noon.

Do you sell alcohol?

Yes. As a licensed Farm Winery and Distillery we prepare a variety of alcoholic beverages on-site including, but not limited to, seltzers, ciders, sakes, fruit wines and other naturally fermented beverages containing local agricultural products. In Spring of 2024, we will begin offering our distilled spirits - ever had organic moonshine? All of our beverages are made with filtered, ionized water and organically-grown ingredients that are sourced from our farm or as close to home as possible.

Can I bring my own wine?

As we do not offer a traditional wine and beer list, you are welcome to bring your own beverage to accompany your meal. While we do not charge a “corkage fee”, there will be a small service fee applied per person depending on the nature of the beverage.

Do you have private dining areas? Do you offer private events?

We can accommodate any size party for your special event. Please visit our Private Events page for more details.

Our dining area is community-style, seating up to 30 guests per evening around one table. If you would like your party to be the only one occupying the restaurant, you may do so by purchasing a minimum of 25 dining tickets or meeting our minimum purchase. Please contact us for further details.

Is Origin dining exclusively outdoors?

Our outdoor dining porch is enclosed by glass panes and sliding cedar doors. The space is under-roof and open-air, equipped with drop down screens and propane heaters should you require additional protection from the Elements.

Can I bring my child to dinner?

Everyone is welcome around our table - and we love having the little ones around. If you do choose to bring your child, here are some things to know: if they occupy a seat, their ticket will be full price. If your child is under-wing (either in your lap or in a baby carrier/stroller), there is no charge. Parents love the opportunity to cruise the pasture with a baby that needs movement or settling, and the older kiddos can have fun running around between courses! 3-Course Dinners are two hours long and 5-Course Dinners can last up to 3 hours. Some children may be content in this setting, some may not. You know your child best so out of respect for yourself and the other diners that share your table, please use your best judgement.

What is your smoking policy?

Neither smoking nor vaping is permitted anywhere on the premises.

What should I wear?

First and foremost, dress for the weather. Our event spaces are covered and open-air. Choose footwear suitable for walking on mowed prairie paths, gravel walkways and paved areas. We also ask that you refrain from applying your personal fragrance. Though it may be lovely, it can intercept the natural scents that live here in the open air.
